The score is not for sale.
Every Second is a reliability instrument for an ecosystem: every mainnet L1, measured from outside, continuously, on a public methodology. The public sees the score. Foundations fund the instrument — and decide how far its evidence reaches.
An independent, open-methodology instrument that measures every L1 in the ecosystem from outside — finality, uptime, cross-chain delivery — and publishes a score no one can buy.
What the public layer already gives an ecosystem
Every mainnet L1, scored
Continuous measurement from three regions. No chain opts in, no chain pays, no chain is left out.
A number the ecosystem can quote
The Avalanche Reliability Index: median measured finality across every L1, published monthly.
No silent outages
Every incident is published on X with the on-chain transaction that proves it.
How foundations work with Every Second
An annual agreement. Coverage guarantee for every mainnet L1, the monthly index, a quarterly signed ecosystem report, incident reports — and the evidence layer — raw streams, webhooks, breakdowns — opened to every L1 team in the ecosystem, in the foundation's name.
A pool of operator seats the foundation assigns to its L1 teams: streams, webhooks, API, region and incident detail. Teams see Every Second as ecosystem infrastructure, not a vendor.
Raw historical measurements and the index feed for the foundation's research, its reports and the institutions it works with.
What no agreement changes
- The score is a public, deterministic formula. A funder cannot change a number.
- Methodology changes are versioned and published before they take effect.
- Probes never run on infrastructure of a measured chain, and no chain pays to be measured.
- Every incident carries a signed on-chain transaction, and the raw record is committed on-chain every hour — anyone can verify both.
Other ecosystems
The method is chain-agnostic. The same probes and the same methodology deploy to Cosmos, Polkadot and L2 ecosystems, with scores comparable across them.
Scale
One agreement covers every mainnet L1 in the ecosystem, every 60 seconds, from three regions — thousands of signed transactions a day, all of them evidence.
